Nozomi Nakabayashi's Hut on Stilts
Nozomi Nakabayashi’s Hut on Stilts was nominated for the Architect’s Journal’s Small Project Award. Nozomi designed and built the structure whilst living on site. The Hut measures 6sqm, a lot smaller than the Large Shed Nozomi designed and helped construct during her Master year at the Architecture Association’s Design & Make course.
The hut is constructed of cork as insulation and exposed wall lining, locally sourced Western Red Cedar cladding, a Douglas fir primary structure and reclaimed glazing and telegraph poles as the base structure.
Woodhouse Urban Park shrubs ready for shipment
Woodhouse Urban Park, part of the 1st phase of the South Kilburn Regeneration Programme is nearing completion.
The neighbourhood park will offer activity and play for all ages ranging for table tennis and trampolining to bespoke oak play structures and a small stage.
Erect Architecture and Allen Scott designed the green space in collaboration with the Friends of Woodhouse Park. Contractors Ground Control are working hard to ensure it is ready for the opening in May.
